1. static (at rest position)
2. dynamic (in uniform motion)
It is called Punctuated Equilibrium. Some Evolutionary apologists, notably Richard Dawkins, have down played this aspect of Neo-Darwinistic theory.

Gradualism is the theory that evolution occurs slowly and consistently along periods of time. On the other hand, punctuated equilibrium is the theory that evolution does not occurs for long periods of time and then suddenly evolves rapidly in a small short period of time.
The difference is that chemical equilibrium is the equilibrium of products and reactants in a reaction while physical equilibrium is the equilibrium of the physical states of the same substance.
The Chatelier's Principle states that when a dynamic equilibrium is disturbed by changing conditions then the position of equilibrium shifts to counteract the change to reestablish equilibrium. A chemical reaction is at equilibrium and experiences a change in pressure, temperature, or concentration of products , equilibrium will shift in opposite directions to offset change.

Le Chatelier's principle is very important in studying the chemical systems in equilibrium. It states if an external stress is applied to a system in equilibrium, then the equilibrium shifts in a direction where the change can be neutralized.
consumer equilibrium states that consumer maximise his utility with the given income and with the given price or when a consumer getting maximum satisfaction with available resources then he will be in a state of equilibrium.
The gradualism model of evolution states that change occurs gradually over time. On the other hand, the punctuated equilibrium model states that change occurs suddenly or rapidly.
The Le Chtelier's principle states one thing. It is the dynamic equilibrium which is disturbed by changing the conditions and the position of equilibrium moves that makes a change.
Equilibrium is referred to as dynamic because in a system at equilibrium, the forward and reverse reactions are occurring at the same rate. This means that while it appears that there is no net change in the concentrations of reactants and products, molecules are constantly being converted back and forth between the two states.
