Africa is a suppressed country, surveys are a random sampling from the public. If people do not have a phone or a mailbox they can not be included in a survey. People also have to factor in the percentage of peole that do not participate in surveys. Therefore the question is unanswerable due to the fact of internal corruption within a society of peoples.
About 25-30 million people in the United States are illiterate. Most people have a high school education and the average person reads at a 6th grade level. 25% of the population have 4 years of college and hold a degree. While 5-8% have 6 years of college and a Master's. The number of people with a PhD is about 1% of the population.
To add a bit to Jponbac's excellent information above, we must also remember that to a Canadian or American, the term "illiterate" often means nothing more than the inability of a person to read or write the English language. This is not necessarily an indication of intelligence or education level, since both Canada and the United States have open doors to immigrants from many countries around the world. In those countries, most of us with our college educations in English would be considered "illiterate". The term is therefore somewhat misleading.
Education has a very broad meaning. If you mean the ability to read and write, that is one thing. Being uneducated is another. A farmer in the third world country that cannot read or write, but has learned how to raise crops and animals HAS been educated- but is not literate. Please reword your question and try again.
Almost None. for over a 100 years now, by law all children must undergo an education either in a state provided or private educational establishment. That only leave people who have migrated to the country as refugees that my not have been educated.
However, please note that while every child must go to school in the UK, some refuse to learn there or are incapable of benefiting from teaching. This while every child has been educated, not all are qualified.
less than how many people don't go to school(120 million children don't go to school)
Roughly 121 million children in the US don't have an educationl.

In Africa many people are poor so they usually walk for miles.
1.4 million Children in africa do not go to school
Africa is a continent of just over 1 billion people. Whilst some areas are poor, others have far higher levels and standards of education than many other parts of the world. It is reasonable to assume that plenty of them go to school; Africa is not as backward as it is made out to be in the press
Who said girls in Africa don't go to school !? A lot of girls do go to school in Africa. It is also true that a lot of girls in Africa don't go to school: often this is because there is no school in the area, or they cannot afford to go, or they have to work or look after their brothers and sisters and so on. Many of these girls really want to attend school but just can't. It is sad. There are also a lot of boys who want to go to school but can't for similar reasons. That is sad, too.
