There is only one major active duty AF base in NC now that Pope is making the transition to an Army Airfield. Seymour Johnson AFB is located in Goldsboro, NC and is te only major active duty Air Force base. New London AFB near Charllote NC is a Guard/Reserve base. There are also New River airbase and Cherry pointe which are both Marine Corp air stations.
