Four: English, French, Italian, Spanish.

Her major in college was in French literature, and Spanish/Italian are similar to French so she was able to write and speak them as well, though less fluently then her French and certainly her English. She spoke fluent French since she was a child. It started when her mother would play this game along with Jackie's sister Lee where the player was given ten matches and the goal was to keep the most matches the longest, with each English word spoken by a player counting as a loss of a match.

No- he was not bi-lingual. His wife could speak fluent French. Mrs Kennedy could read, write and speak French at a high level; she often translated quotes and summaries from French histories for her husband. Mrs. Kennedy could also speak Spanish quite well and was certainly competent. She gave several speeches in Spanish and on their honeymoon in Mexico ordered meals in Spanish. Her husband could speak a few words and always made some attempt to say things like "Gracias", "Muchas gracias" and "Viva Costa Rica" etc.
