Answer . under optimum conditions of moisture, soil and temperature, about 5 days
The amount of time it takes for a lima bean to grow depends onseveral factors; depth of seeds in the soil, temperature of thesoil and the condition of the soil. Seeds start to… germinate atabout 5 days and can be 5 inches tall in just a little over amonth.

Soak them over night, and then put them in a jar with a ventilated lid so air can get in and get out. Rinse them daily, and drain out excess water. When they sprout they are d…one!
Lima Beans grow in about 3 to 4 weeks in a garden.
You can sprout any beans or alfalfa seeds, radish seeds etc. Use a clear see through container (with a lid) such as a glass jar or there are special sprouting containers yo…u can purchase from health stores, place about two teaspoons in the jar fill with water and soak beans for 12 hours, pour off the water, place jar of wet beans in a window (doesn't need to have direct sunlight on them) keep rinsing the beans one or two times a day (use a strainer or cheese cloth over the top so beans won't go down the drain) you should see sprouts within three to five days. Grow them until they are the desired size, these are very good to eat on salads or by themselves. Store them in your refrigerator in a zip lock baggie.
Because of their large size, lima beans are great for watching as they sprout. Give each student a plastic baggie, preferably with a ziploc-type top. Each student places a cou…ple of dry lima beans in her bag. She then adds a little water and closes the bag.. Write each child's name on his bag with a permanent marker, and tape the bags to a window that gets a lot of sun. As the days progress, you will observe sprouts emerging from the lima beans. Tell your students that this is what happens when the seeds are planted in the earth. The sprout would eventually poke through the ground, and grow, and become a plant that would produce more lima beans.. An optional step two is to take new, dry lima beans and plant them in soil in cups. Keep those in the window and let your students water them daily. It is exciting to watch the sprouts emerge from the soil, just as they watched sprouts emerge from the seed itself.
yes you can i tried it the heat from you mouth helps the plant grow
yes they do... (improved sarcastically) No, they grow in living rooms.
Yes. My son just proved this as part of his science experiment. Seeds were over-watered in rocks, top soil, mulch and sand. Beans grew in 2 of the 3 cups of rocks and 2 of the… 3 cups of sand. They grew in only 1 of the 3 top soil cups and none of the mulch cups. This is because the beans were planted deeply and overwatered. The rocks and sand could drain much better. The top soil and mulch which really held too much water and got packed hard, trapping the bean underneath.
