Totally depends on the store. Big Box employees will get around 16-20 average. SAS (Stand Alone Stores) get terrible hours. You could get 20 hours one week, 40 the next and not work for two or three weeks after that. Very inconsistent and they don't care that you have bills to pay
Full time at Best Buy is 32 hours or above, so during a rough patch, you can expect the minimum of 32 hours. However, average is around 36-40.
WC coverage is required for full- and part-time workers.
I think it depends on your shifts. There are part time workers and full time. Many nurses work different hours per week. I suppose it depends on how long you're willing to work.

Most textile workers toiled for 12 to 14 hours a day and half a day on Saturdays; the mills were closed on Sundays. Typically, mill girls were employed for nine to ten months of the year, and many left the factories during part of the summer to visit back home. They probably didnt want to work at all. A regular 8 hours would've been better for them
The average full-time working American works roughly 40 hours per week. This averages to be 2,080 hours per year. Part- time workers usually work 20 hours per week, which calculates to 1040 hours per year.
Many is an adjective, and hours is a noun.
There seems to be no set hours for part time work, well none that I could find anyway, but I did find this. Many employers classify part-time employees as those who regularly work fewer than 30 hours per week. It is up to employers to determine what definition of part-time best suits their objectives.
The number of hours a part-time worker works can vary depending on the employer and industry. However, on average, part-time workers commonly work between 20 and 30 hours per week, which translates to approximately 4 to 6 hours per day for a 5-day workweek.
While only the store management knows for sure, there is a general rule. Businesses would rather have multiple part time workers rather than full time workers. They don't want to pay overtime for the part time workers and they don't want to have to pay for benefits for full time workers.

The best way to find out whether your local zoo is hiring is by going to their website and looking for a link on Careers. You could also call them and ask whether they are hiring part time workers.
