Hertz is a measure of frequency and in computing it refers to how quickly can something be done inside the CPU (from there derives the expression "Clock Speed"). Bytes are the storage spaces in computing and usually a byte has 8 bits (A bit can be refered as the atom of computing storage, for it is the smallest unit of storage holding up a logical "0" or "1"). in synthesis, there are no bytes in hertz as they relate to different subjects.

"There are 10 raised to the power 6 hertz 1 million hertz are in a mega hertz."

When it comes to computer microprocessor clock speeds this upper answer is not quite right, a computer works in binary meaning that ten for us is two to the computer f. e. 0=0, 1=1, 2=10, 3=11, 4=100, 8=1000, 16=10000, 64=1000000.

two in the power of ten is 1024 or 10000000000 in binary, and computers use this number to multiply with to go up from previous grades of hertz. Therefore there are 1024 hertz in a kilohertz and 1024^2 or 1048576 hertz in a megahertz. That is almost a million but not quite. A gigahertz is 1024^3 = 1073741824, and so on.

Those are two completely different terms you speak of.

One Hertz is one cycle per second, referred to in AC electricity. There is 60 hertz, 120 volts AC coming out of a wall socket.

There are 1,000 hertz in a megahertz; 1,000 megahertz in a gigahertz.

A gigabyte refers to PC storage. Traditionally it is considered that there are 1,000 megabytes in a gigabyte, but because PCs use the binary system, with the way the numbering system works, there are 1,024 megabytes in a gigabyte.

Megabytes have no correlation whatsoever to gigahertz. They are totally different units of measure. Megabytes is a measure of digital storage. Gigahertz is a measure of frequency.
