A 5 minute shower uses an average of 5 to 10 gallons of water.

If an American showered every day for five minutes, that would be 1,825 to 3,650 gallons of water. Showering four days a week would be 1,045 to 2,090 gallons of water a year.

That's a lot of water but when you consider how much a bath takes (about 70 gallons) it is saving a lot!
