The Earth is about 93 million miles away from the Sun, in a not-quite circular orbit. The surface of the Sun is about 11,000 degrees, hot enough to vaporize any material, so we don't actually want to go to the Sun.

If we wanted to send a probe into the Sun with our current technologies, it would take about 18 months to get it there, As our spacefaring abilities improve, I'm sure we could whittle this down to a matter of a couple of months.

Light from the Sun gets to Earth in 8 minutes 20 seconds.

That depends on the speed, of course. Pick a suitable speed, then divide the distance (150 million kilometers) by that speed. If the speed is in kilometers per hour, the result will be in hours.

Depends on the speed, of course. The Sun's diameter is about 1.4 million km.; multiply that by pi and you get about 4.4 million km. for the circumference. Divide that by a comfortable walking speed of 5 km/hour, i.e., not much of a hurry, that gives you approximately 880,000 hours, or 36,600 days, or about 100 years.

That depends on how fast your rocket goes and what specific path is taken. The Sun is about 400 times further away than the Moon and the Apollo missions got to the Moon in about 3-4 days, if that helps.

If you were to "drop" something into the Sun from a point on Earth's orbit with its motion only influenced by the Sun's gravitational pull, it would take about 64 days to fall. (Kepler's third law gives it an orbital period of about 129 days, but since the Sun isn't an idealized geometrical point, it won't be coming back.)

Since we haven't been there (or even come close) yet, this is hard to answer. The center of the Earth is about 4000 miles down; the deepest hole ever drilled is less than 8 miles and we're not likely to get much further anytime soon.

Like any other trip, that would depend on how fast you travel, and on the route you take.

If you traveled at the speed of light in a straight line, it would take 81/3 minutes.

If you traveled at 100 mph in a Hohmann transfer orbit, it would take something like 350 years.

The shuttle is in orbit, meaning that its speed is about 18,000 mph. The Sun is 93,000,000 miles away. So, a bit over 5,000 hours or 200+ days. The Sun's kind of hot for visiting, though, better go at night.

The sun is extremely hot--so hot that if we were any closer, the Earth would not be able to support life. That is why Earth is the only planet capable of handling life forms--it isn't too close or too far away from the sun. If any object were to go near it, especially something made of metal, it would burn up.

That would depend on its power and trajectory. Many rockets are not intended to leave the atmosphere, and others have no capability to leave the atmosphere. For rockets that are capable of doing so, they are normally aimed in a path to minimize the time within the atmosphere, to reduce drag, heating and potential damage.

For example, the US Space Shuttles were pretty much out of the atmosphere within 5-6 minutes.
