what is being asked for in this question is "frequency(f)", but in order to answer to answer this question, there is need to know the velocity of this sound wave and its wave length. since there are non of these mentioned in the question, i will give my own values, let the velocity be 330m/s which is the speed of sound in air and let the wave length be 30m. therefore f=velocity/wave length: which gives f=330m per second/30m = 11 hertz

If you can hear it with your ears, then the frequency is generally somewhere

between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. The upper end is substantially less than 20,000 Hz

once you reach middle age, most especially if you spent your younger years

playing your music loud and beating up your inner ears.

Frequency doesn't have to be a whole number. If a playground swing, a pendulum,

an ocean wave, a sound vibration, an electromagnetic wave, a knock on the door,

or an automatic bank deposit happens 27 times in 10 seconds, then its frequency

is 2.7 Hz.

"Hz" just means "average number of them per second".

The sound that is perceptible by humans is in the range of 20 to 20,000 Hz, or cycles per second. The average sound wave within this range would be approximately 10,010.5 Hz.

What gives a sound wave its pitch and intensity?

A sound wave's pitch is determined by its frequency; that is its cycles per unit of time. The sound wave's intensity or volume is determined by its amplitude; the maximum crest of a sound wave.

The hertz is used to measure the frequency of sound if something is rated at 150 hertz what does that mean?

That means that whatever that wave is, whether it be a radio or television wave, is moving up and down 150 times per second.

Hertz Hz is the unit used to measure a wave's?

Hertz means cycles per second. That is its' frequency.

How are wavelength and the frequency of a wave related?

You can measure a wave either by the physical distance between two similar points (wave length), or by how many similar points pass, in the period of one second. (cycles per second or Hertz) The relationship between them depends on the speed on the wave through the medium in which they exist. So for radio waves, they travel at the speed of light which is 300,000,000 metres per second. To covert from one to the other simply divide 300,000,000 by the known number to give the vaue of the unknown. eg. 200khz = 200,000 cycles per second. Divide 300,000,000 by 200,000 = 1500 which is in metres. BBC radio 4 is on 200khz longwave which equals 1500metres.

What is something that is produced by a wavelength?

No. Frequency is a quotient, or proportion (it is a division). Common frequencies are miles per hour (miles/hour), cycles per second (as in sound-- 440 sound waves per second is the standard pitch A). So frequency is the number of the 'thing' you are observing, divided by the amount of time you observed.

The frequency of its sound wave determines its what?

The sensation of a frequencies is commonly referred to as the pitch of a sound. A high pitch sound corresponds to a high frequency sound wave and a low pitch sound corresponds to a low frequency sound wave.
