A 'Cubic metre' is a metric measure of volume. A 'Ton' is a measure of Imperial weight/mass.

It all depends on what you are measuring & its density . Together with the conversion factors between 'Metric' and 'Imperial'.

The density of concrete is about 2400 kg per cubic meter, = 5300 lb per cubic meter. So if you want the short ton, 2000 lb, this will be 0.377 m3. A standard ton of 2240 lb will be 0.423 m3, and a metric ton of 1000kg will be 0.417 m3.

There is no sensible answer to the question. A ton is a measure of mass. A cubic metre is a measure of volume. The two measure different things and, according to basic principles of dimensional analysis, conversion from one to the other is not valid.

If you are not convinced, consider a cubic metre of air. How many tons? Next consider a cubic metre of lead. How many tons?

Different substances have different densities. A cubic meter of air has a different weight than a cubic meter of water, and a cubic meter of water has a different weight than a cubic meter of granite, and so forth.
