Did mohammed the prophet have children?

Yes, Ismail had children. We know he had children because Ismail's later descendants from these children, who came to be the northern Arabs, included Prophet Muhammad (S) and his family. Muslims believe that Muhammad is the great nation in which God promised Ismail in the Book of Genesis, where it says:

"And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of 12 rulers, and I will make them into a great nation." (Genesis 17:20)

Yes he had grandchildren.

Our beloved Prophet (May peace be on him) had no adult son. So, he had no grandchildren from his son. His sons died in their childhood. He had four daughters. He had grandchildren from his eldest daughter Hazrat Zainab (RAU), and the youngest daughter Hazrat Fatma (RAU). His daughters Hazrat Ruqyya and Hazrat Kalsoom were married, one after the other, to the third caliph Hazrat Usman (RAU). No off-spring from these two daughters are reported.

The most loved grandchildren of the holy Prophet (May peace be on him) were Hazrat Hasan (RAU), and Hazrat Hussain (RAU). They were the sons of Hazrat Fatima (RAU) and Hazrat Ali (RAU). Both are the Chiefs of the Youth of Paradise.
