The major battles of World War 2 were fought in North Africa, Europe and the Pacific Islands.
There were too many battles in the Pacific Ocean to list here. One major example was the Battle of Medway, which was a key defeat the Japanese suffered that totally changed the whole outlook of the Asian War.
There was many major battles in the Pacific and European Theaters. The two major battles for both was the invasion of Europe was Operation Overlord (D-Day as many call it) and the Battle of Midway. Where the Americans turned the tide in both theaters in these battles.
Spain and the US, but the battles were fought in the Caribbean and the Pacific.

The war in the Pacific had no similarity to the war in Europe. The Pacific war was largely a matter of 'Island hopping' -of large numbers of US troops and Marines fighting on beaches and to occupy islands, and of large naval battles involving aircraft carriers. -The war in Europe was a an air war in the beginning, and after D-Day a series of major land battles.The war in the Pacific had no similarity to the war in Europe. According to the British they won all of their aerial battles in Europe; but obviously lost all of their battles in the Pacific and Asia, as their bases fell to the enemy there (Singapore, etc.).
