The 2007 Madison dollar coin is face value. Only Proof and high grade Mint State coins have premiums. It is NOT made of gold (merely golden colored)

It was put into circulation on November 15, 2007 by way of the Philadelphia and Denver mints. Please see the related link below for information about this coin.

There was a $1 coin issued in 1993 with his image and another in 1999 to honor Dolley Madison, his wife.

You may have a privately-made piece or it may be a different date or denomination.
