2 to 3 days
No. Atrazine actually damages Bermuda grass.
Yes. Products containing Atrizine should not be used on Bahia Grass.
Bermuda grass is not tolerant of atrazine and it can possibly kill the grass. Certainly some state agricultural agencies recommend using atrazine to control weeds in Bermuda grass, but its use should probable be limited to times when the average temperatures are at or below 50 oF, i.e. when the Bermuda grass is dormant.See http://commodities.caes.uga.edu/turfgrass/georgiaturf/WeedMngt/weedcontrol/ATHCAL01.pdf
Yes you can. Atrazine does not hurt Zoysia grass. just be sure to use it at the recommended rate. If you use too much then it will cause damage to the grass.
2-3 weeks
The weed killer atrazine can take 14-21 days to kill weeds. It works by inhibiting photosynthesis. It has to be absorbed by the plant (hopefully weeds) to stop photosynthesis; this is why it can take so long to work. Many people expect results within 3 days so they often cause damage to their grass via over-application. Two things that may effect the time it takes for noticeable results are: 1)the amount of atrazine the product contains and 2)if the product is time released, such as many of the weed and feeds (a fertilizer combined with weed killer).
It will disable the process of germination. After applying a herbicide in that nature or any type of weed killer/ preventer, you should wait 4 to 6 week before reseeding.
I use Atrazine. It is real effective for dollarweed and other broadleaf weeds.
