How long should you wait before drinking alcohol after gallbladder surgery?
I had my gallbladder removed a month ago. They told me before I left the hospital not to drink for 24 hours - ha! Like I felt like drinking! However, your body may take longer to tolerate it. I tried last week to drink a glass of wine. After a few sips, I had a buzz and was not feeling very well. A couple nights later while spending the evening with a few friends, I had 2 glasses of wine. The next day I had the worst hangover of my life ( I am not prone to hangovers and while I don't drink heavily, it takes more than 2 glasses of wine to give me one). I was very sick to my stomach for the rest of the next day. So my advice would be to wait until you are recovered from surgery (and off any prescription pain medications) and take it slowly, to see what your body can handle. I did a little research to find out if it's normal to have problems drinking alcohol after this surgery, and it seems to be a lot of people who have trouble. Well, at least it wasn't the flu like I thought!

Answer You should wait for 3 - 4 days or until your dentist checks you again (whichever comes first.) Having any tooth pulled (wisdom teeth are difficult at best) tears the g…ums and your dentist has probably packed the gum down by the bone and stitched each one. If you are on pain killers DON'T DRINK! Alcohol will make you bleed more. If you don't have much pain and you aren't on pain killers then 2 days after the pullings your dentists may say it is okay to drink alcohol. Give the gums a little time to heal.

The rule of thumb is one hour for every drink. That is about how long it takes your body to metabolize the alcohol. A "drink" is one shot, one 4-oz glass of wine, or one 12-oz… beer. If you have been drinking strong mixed drinks, it may take much longer.
like 20 min
As soon as you can. Gall bladder infections, or gall stones are not a laughing matter - both can make you feel quite ill. Gall stones can be effectively controlled via a low f…at diet (but this does require dedication - i.e no butter, chocolate or cheese ever again). Gall bladder removal (which may not be necessary) is done via keyhole surgery these days - it's very safe and leaves a tiny scar.
You can take both together, as long as you do not vomit aftertaking alcohol. But if you are ill then it is better if you do nottake alcohol.
