Condensate pumps are usually turn off automatically when all water is gone that they are designated to remove. If your pump runs a lot and only slowly removes the water it was designed to pump, then you probably have trash or something within your pump inlet or outlet.

Another thing to look for is to see if its stuck on and not shutting down once its job is done. If the pump is running dry, it will damage the shaft seal usually pretty fast. Don't let it run on, because of this also because of wasted energy you'll have to pay for.

Is it better to start a small business out of a residential property which is also home or have a home out of a commercial property which is also a business?

I figure it's best to start a business from your home study if you are a solo act. If you need employees, and you need them to be physically present, then you should shift to the garage. If you have rented a very large office and are sure that your business will do well, you can shift home into your commercial property so long the home gets ample space and remains a home, and does not get entwined with the business.
