First trimester 0-12 weeks: 12 weeks
Second trimester 13-27 weeks: 14 weeks
Third trimester 28-40 weeks: 12 weeks
The third trimester can last over 12 weeks though, because many women go overdue. The third trimester can last an extra 2 weeks. This makes it 14 weeks long in some cases.
