There are a few factors that determine the answer to your question. What part of Long Island are you leaving from? Long Island is 118 miles long. How do you plan on traveling? Car, bus, or train? Are you going to be traveling in rush hour?

It can take anywhere from 25 minutes to up to up to 2 hours, depending on what part of Long Island you are coming from.

I think the easiest way to get to Jamaica is by the LIRR, with stops right on Sutphin Blvd, in Jamaica, Queens. The ride is about an hour, give or take, depending on how far east you are coming from. You don't have to worry about rush hour traffic slowing you down.
