Best Answer

A fertilized egg takes 21 days from the day incubation starts to hatch.

A broody hen may take a few days to gather enough eggs but the day she starts to set on the eggs it usually take a full 21 days. Constant temperature and humidity must be maintained by either the hen or the artificial incubator.

about 5 weeks... then it's a pullet for a while, which is like the teenager for chicks. they kinda look like chicken size chicks. it takes 5-8 months from birth, on average, for a chicken to start laying eggs.
