Depending on the size and structure of the seed it may take 3 to 21 days for sprouting for example mung bean seeds sprout with in 3 days whereas date palm seeds take 21 days to sprout.

Several things can also determine how fast seeds can sprout. Quality of the medium (starting soil), how deep the seeds were planted (too deep and they may not have enough energy to reach the surface and too shallow may not give them a strong enough root system), warmth, moisture, light and if the seeds were planted inside or outside can all have an effect on determining how fast a seed will sprout. I used to grow Atlantic Giant Pumpkins and I could make them sprout in less than 7 days with the right technique.
