You may not have to take the ring out at all. During any surgery the doctor may ask that you remove all jewelry as it may interfere with the machinery but as long as there is no tearing due to your belly getting too big or infection, you should be able to keep it for the duration.

Ditto the above. Depends on the woman. This contributor has known females who wore them while pregnant, and has heard of two who wore theirs into the delivery room. In either case, the piercing will probably have to be redone after the baby is born. Wearing it while pregnant may cause you discomfort . There is a pregnancy belly ring now if I am not mistaken.

This is true well I never took mine out and even wore it while giving birth they will want it out if they think there is any chance for a see section( sorry don't know how to spell that) and like said above just depends on the woman pregnant as for me I never had any problems nor had to get it re done it looks just as it did before I was pregnant

  • It's C-section, with the "C" short for Caesarian, named after Julius Caesar who was born this way. [An English major may be particular about the spelling, but if people hang out with me they will learn something historical.]

WHen it gets uncomfortable for you. I dont think it poses any risk if you left it in. YOu may have to take it off when you enter the hospital along with any other jewelry that is on your person, they put it in a bag for you to take when you leave. If you can remember to take it off before going to the hospital that is one less thing to keep track of. Congratulations.

I would add that it is a good idea to put a slightly bigger ring in early on as if you wear a small one it may feel tight when your abdomen gets bigger. In the labor ward I worked in, belly rings did not have to be removed for an uneventful labor and delivery. If a C Section were indicated then the jewellery had to come out. Congrats.

You shouldn't take your belly ring out, however you should be able to change it within 1-2 months after. However it is a risk as the piercing can collapse. If it is no longer red and inflammed. you can try.

Infections, side effects and healing issues are all points you need to discuss with your professional body piercer BEFORE you get the piercing done. You also need to discuss aftercare for the piercing, this should be followed up with written aftercare instructions for your piercing. No professional body piercer will force you to purchase aftercare products, this is a purchase that is up to you and they can only recommend specific products but they can force you to buy what they have.

Listen to what you are told and follow the aftercare to the letter and remember if you are having issues with bumps and lumps or discharge go back to the shop that did the piercing and talk to the piercer. They must help you resolve any healing issues you may be having. Don't solicit advice from anyone who is not a professional body piercer, just because one thing worked for someone else doesn't mean it will work for you. Healing issues need to be looked at first hand so the problem can be recognised and resolved, the internet is just a guessing game.

You can if you desire or you could also see your professional body piercer and get him/her to put in a Bioplast or PTFE barbell. These are medically tested materials that are flexible and will retain the piercing during your term. I had had lots of clients choose this as an option to removing the jewellery with no problems. It's something to think about.

Do you mean switch it out? You can go back to your piercer when the swelling goes down so that the jewelry has less contact with your clothes. I would wait till its fully healed to change it out yourself. Your jewelry wont be sterile like the piercer's and you dont want non sterile jewelry in a healing surface piercing.

You don't have to take it out right away. Soon you will want to take it out because it will be uncomfortable. When you grow it might start to hurt you.

PokemonGirlxxx- You can be any size to have your belly button pierced, I am not skinny nor am I too big but I have mine done.
