Gout initially only lasts a few days, and can be treated with Colchicine, and or, anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, or a short course of Cortico Steroids in severe cases. However, if left untreated, once the initial attacks subside, it can become much more severe, despite many years of respite, and attacks can, and will last longer. In my own case, this has happened to me, and the current attack I am having, has lasted 6 months, and is leaving me crippled and in severe pain most of the time. It is now attacking both big toes, and one ankle. I would recommend anyone who has an attack, even a small one, to seek medical intervention early to get their Uric acid levels lowered, in order to prevent ending up like me. Wait until the attack has subsided, as some of the drugs used to lower Uric acid levels, can make an attack worse, and you may have to take small amounts of Colchicine, or anti inflammatory drugs at first during your first few months of treatment. I hope this helps some of you, and I wish fellow sufferers the best of luck with a cure. Best regards, Gordon.
Gout is a type of arthritis caused by a build up of uric acid in the blood. Gout is treatable with anti-inflammatory medications; beyond medications, the correct diet helps alleviate the symptoms of gout.Foods to avoidStudies have found that people who struggle with gout can eat what they like within moderation. Diets high in meat; however, are linked to gout symptoms. Furthermore, purine-rich foods can also cause gout symptoms. Purine-rich foods include, but are not limited to, herring, mussels, yeast, smelt, sardines, mutton, anchovies and salmon. Not all purine-rich foods are linked to gout. For example, peas, beans and spinach are all purine-rich but have no connection to gout symptoms. Someone with gout should avoid beer and gravy as well, and consume fish and oatmeal (along with other whole grains) in moderation. One myth that exists about gout is that sufferers should avoid coffee and tea, but this is not true.Avoid foods that are high in purines to alleviate gout symptoms. Foods you can enjoyDespite having gout, there are many foods a person can enjoy, and still avoid their symptoms. These foods include green vegetables, tomatoes, fruit and fruit juice, non-whole grain breads and cereals, butter, cheese, eggs, chocolate, peanuts and other nuts.Gout is a disease that can cause a lot of discomfort and pain. No. Gout symptoms are caused by the excessive formation of Uric acid in the blood This in turn crystalised forming tiny sharp crystals that are trapped in synovial joints and other parts of the body
If it helps in the situation there should be no problem with it.
Red swollen painful joints particularly in the extremity. often starting in the joint in the big toe. deposits of uric acid crystals forming lumps under the skin near these joints {tophi) and on the cooler regions of the body like the ears.
In some cases of gout the patient may experience a fever. Symptoms of gout can last for a few days to a few weeks. Some of the more common symptoms are pain in the infected area, swelling, and redness.
Gout symptoms can last a long time and an important part of the treatment is in avoiding foods that are high in purines, naturally while the disease is active you would also be prescribed analgesics and anti informatory to help control the problem.

The symptoms of trichinosis are at their most severe at about three weeks after infection, and decrease very slowly in their severity. Recovery is extremely gradual, and symptoms may last for as long as three months.
The best way to treat gout is to go do a doctor and get prescribed medicine. If you are unable to get prescribed medicine, you should try to keep off of the area which is infected with gout.
