This is completely up to the bride and groom. A wedding ceremony taking place in the Temple will be about a half hour, not including time to get ready or take photos. The length of a ceremony outside the temple or a reception is totally up to the couple. Many Mormons in the US have wedding receptions lasting 2-3 hours, in which guests may come and go as they please.

If you have twenty elderly christians in one room a new persons comes to the centre and is a Jehovahs witness how do we intergrate the new person without offending the other 20 or so people who have b?

I grew up as a Jehovahs witness and I always felt worse when people made a huge deal in making thing separate. All people are different in their beliefs and some are more strict then others, but in general Jehovahs witnesses are kind and will resectfully back away if there is anything that they feel uncomfortable with. Just talk to the person, I am sure they will let you know how they feel, and where they draw the line. For the most part though they will not take part of any holiday events and if they have been practiceing long they will be use to not being involved.

Organizing your wedding and you are marrying into a Jehovah Witness family and you are not sure of all the rules yet but would like to know if you are allowed to have toasts on your wedding reception?

== == * Since you are marrying the Groom you are also marrying into his family and his parents are going to be your mother and father-in-law. It would be nice if you sat down and talked over the wedding plans with you future mother-in-law with your future husband there as well. This way you will be sure not to offend your fiance's family and relatives. * Jehovah Witness' do not allow toasts, throwing of rice, or other superstitions. They also require the wedding to take place in a Kingdom Hall (A Jehovah Witness Church). I would check with your grooms family to see if these are rules that they personally follow, most Jehovah Witness' are strict about it, though. * It does NOT have to be at a Kingdom Hall. Jehovah Witness' may have it in the Kindom Hall, but often they will select other locations. * The wedding reception does have dancing, gifts are allowed, but jewelry is frowned upon (more useful gifts such as kitchen utensils, bedding, furnishings) but not sexually explicit dancing and no, Jehovah Witness' do not need to be married in a Kingdom Hall.
