As long as the packaging is intact and the mix itself doesn't get wet, what could really go wrong with it? Some ingredients may break down over time, affecting the taste/color, but other than that... Still, jello and instant pudding are really, really cheap, so just go buy a new box if it's more than just a little bit past its sell-by date.

∙ 14y agoEating Jell-O after its expiry date is unlikely to cause you harm however the taste, flavour and possibly texture may have deteriorated. However, if it was properly stored then this should not have occured.

∙ 14y agoFrom a food safety standpoint, it is dry and shelf stable - so there should be no concern about pathogens. In relation to performance or flavor, the best-by date would be the date up until the manufacturer would guarantee the product under normal storage conditions. The further past the date, the more the product will degrade. Using it is up to you.

∙ 15y agoYes you can eat them, they are just not guaranteed to be at there best taste or "fresh." If you wait to long though they will go bad. I would say a week after the exp date wont be harmful.
