Light scattering by paper and reflection by a mirror are not all that different. Light scattering by a paper reflects light in many different directions because of its rough surface. Reflection by a flat mirror is reflection by a smooth surface at an angle 180 degrees from the incident angle.
The light stays in the same medium when it is reflected, while it changes mediums when it is refracted.
This is because when light scatters it escapes through tiny gaps in the window in an airplane while the reflection of light is much different as it really... i forgot my ans
during the reflection of light, opaque glass is used, whereas in refraction transparent or translucent glass is used...........
reflection is when light its something like a mirror and refraction is light going through something solid that is not like a mirror when light falls on a surface and bounces back, it is reflection and when light is absorbed by the surface or passes through the surface but does not bounces back, it is refraction.
Reflection: light bounces off of a surface, like a mirror.Refraction: light goes through a substance and bends. For example, white light through a prism comes out in a rainbow because the light is refracted or bent and each color has a different index of refraction.
Nope. That's reflection, where light waves bounce back. Refraction is where they bend, like through a lens.
Simply looking at a mirror requires reflection and refraction. By looking at a mirror, light reflects off of you and on to the mirror and back at you, and the light will refract throught the convex lenses in your eyes for you to see your reflected image. You can also look through a microscope, because microscopes are filled with lenses and a few mirrors. You can also put a stick in a glass of water to show refraction. Put the stick in at about 45 degrees, and the stick will look like it is broken in half, due to refraction. If you look at the the stick from under the cup at a corner, you can only see the part of the stick that's under the water, and if it's still in a 45-degree angle, it will have a relflection right on the water's surface, and both the stick and its reflection will form an angle of about 90 degrees. This is a way to prove the law of reflection.
Reflection is where the light hits the surface and `bounces` back off the surface, while refraction is where the light enters the medium and changes direction according to the refractive index of the medium. The higher the refractive index, the more the light is refracted.
Different mirrors usually have uses for reflection, rotation, refraction, and more.
Reflection: looking in a mirror Refraction: How a pond looks shallower when it is full of water than when it's empty.

because it has a large θ for the refraction
In addition to the primary image formed by one reflection off the back of the mirror, you may get images formed after two reflections and a total internal refraction: reflection off the back of mirror, refraction on inside of front surface of glass and reflection off back of the mirror. The refraction will only take place at a large angle.
The directions would not be random, they would be determined by the index of refraction and the incidence ray. I'm assuming your talking of refraction which is when light changes its projected angle when traveling through a different substances which light travels different speeds. However if referring to a mirror, then it is simply called reflection.
You can compare it by saying that each of them occur when a light transfers through one meduim to another. That's one way of explaining it.That is incorrect :( It happens when light is shone onto or through a different medium. Reflection happens when light is shone ONTO a mirror, you cant shine light THROUGH a mirror.
Refraction is the bending of light after passing through a medium. Reflection is the bouncing back of light after striking a polished smooth surface like a mirror, clear water, polished metal, etc.
mirror works with the phenomenon of reflection but not the phenomenon of refraction .when the light rays are reflected only the image is formed .

The focal length remains the same because only refraction is affected by the different media. Reflection does not depend on the media.
The reflection of you in a mirror is different from you seeing a shawdow of you on the ground or wall. If a light or the sun is facing the mirror or you at a certain angle, the reflection of whatever is in the mirror can cause a shadow.
