A novel is a book-length fictional manuscript whose pages whenprinted and bound inside a cover becomes a book. Just beingfictional and bound isn't enough -- collections of sho…rt stories, novellas, and other fictional texts can be bound, but they don'tthereby become a novel. . A book consists of printed sheets that can be made of almost anymaterial (paper, parchment, fiberboard etc.) that is fastened/boundtogether on one side and usually protected by some type ofcovering. Although these are often bound, again, binding isn'tessential. For example, books can be electronic with scannedimages. The lack of binding doesn't mean that it isn't a book.Additionally, a book -- in common usage -- tends to have acopyright and be the product of a publisher. One could debate thisaspect (e.g., is an unpublished diary a book?) In short, a novel isusually a book, but a book isn't necessarily a novel. The termsaren't interchangeable. Just remember that novel normally refersonly to works of fiction. If the book isn't fiction, it isn't anovel. (There is a subgenre of nonfiction sometimes called a"nonfictional novel"; the first well-known example of this isTruman Capote's "In Cold Blood".) . Book refers to the physical attributes of a thing. It is made ofpaper, wood, involves ink and pages attached to a spine by glue. Anovel refers to the structure of the intellectual content of abook. The difference between a book and a novel is that a novel refers toa fictional manuscript that represents some character and actionwhereas a book is anything printed on pages and bound within somecover.
FICTION is something that is not true, or made up. Science fiction and Fairy Tales are normally fiction. This is also includes things that are set in a historical time (i.e.… Johnny Tremain) but are not true. Examples: Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Sleeping Beauty, From Dust and Ashes by Tricia Goyer NON-FICTION is something that IS true, such as biographies. Examples: Night by Elie Wiesel, Schindler's Ark by Thomas Keneally, Nonfictional books are books which are factual (i.e. they are about real life events). Fictional books, however, are made up and are not factual.
A novel is a work of fiction. It is a book but it is not true. A book can be a novel or a work of non-fiction or poetry or other things.
Historical fiction is fiction set in the past - that is a made up story that takes place in a historical time, but non-fiction is not fiction, it is factual, it is true inform…ation, not a story.
not exactly. It didn't actually happen, but it could. so i think it would be realistic fiction.
Fiction. (make believe) I get them confused sometimes myself. Just remember 'science fiction' to differentiate fiction from non fiction.* its fiction read the book are there f…airys in real life.
yes it is,i love Dylan sprouse
non fiction is [real] and fiction is [fake]
The two terms are not exclusionary. A chapter book can be a novel and a novel can be a chapter book. One distinction that you could make is that a chapter book refers to the …physical and logical arrangement of the text and is completely independent of content. While a novel dictates content to a large degree.
No. Fairy tales involve magic and mythical crearures, which are created by the author, who makes a story about them. They are fun to read, but are fiction. hope i helped.
it is fiction
Kathryn Stockett's The Help is a work of fiction.
Slob by Ellen Potter is a work of realistic fiction.
Well, no. A series book is a no el but with multiple novels with it in a chain of the main plot line. A novel can have a prequel &/or a sequel. So think of it like this: a ser…ies book is like an evolution of a novel.
Non-fiction books are books based on true events, such as a biography about someone's life. Fiction books are stories made up by the author. An easy way to remember is ficti…on = fake. Non-fiction = not fake.
