Camels adapt to life in the desert with many physical and behavioral adaptations. The hump in a camel does not store water as is commonly believed, it is a reservoir of fatty tissue. Concentration of fatty tissue to one area of the body minimizes heat-trapping insulation throughout the rest of their body, which allows them to live in hot climates. Their red blood cells have an oval shape, unlike those of other mammals, which are circular. This is to facilitate the flow of blood during a dehydrated state. These cells are also more stable. Modified sweat mechanics, water vapor retention in the nostrils, and resistance to weight loss through sweating all help to keep the camel hydrated, while an extra inner eyelid keeps sand from getting in their eyes during sandstorms.

2. Goats will eat anything they can, till the area is barren.

One of the saddest things to hear is "There is left only plants upon which a goat will graze." Goats will destroy the vegetation, and with their sharp hooves, the actual land's surface as well.
