A few months back there was another dispute over ownership of an island with Singapore. This was won by Singapore. Malaysia has also been involved in sending peacekeepers to Africa,Bosnia and Iraq. Overall Malaysia is a peaceful country. The nearest equivalent to be involved in a armed conflict was the counter-insurgency of Communists from 1948~1986, and the brief "Confrontation" with Indonesia in the mid 1960s, right after the formation of Malaysia.
