The Universe came to exIstence 14.6 billion years ago and has been expanding ever since. The expansion process occured very rapidly and exponentially, resulting in expansion close to the speed of light, 3 * 10^8 meters per second. Therefore, the edge of the Universe, from the center, would be around 14.6 billion light years away, theoretically. It turns out that these theoretical calculations are accurate, as astronomers have recently detected the light from stars around 14 billion light years away. As the Universe ages, it will expand even more quickly due to the effects of dark energy.

I believe there is a edge in this universe, but there is no proof on how far it is right now. Our universe has been expanding for a long time, but later on it will start contracting (moving inward) maybe faster than light. And then we'll have a new Earth and a new universe and have only good and living, not bad or death.

IF the universe is 13.7 billion years old AND its expanding at the speed of light, then the answer might be 13.7 light years ... but not all assumptions have been proven.
