When a persons work they are productive and as a result of this increase the amount of cash that finds its way into the hands of the Government. Not to mention that a number of people that would otherwise have ended up relying on social security are still supporting them selves, instead of drawing money from social security.

How much money can you earn working while collecting social secruity you are 62 years of age?

Social Security payments received upon retirement depend almost entirely on the amount of money that has been paid into the system in the working years before that time. How much work is done and what income is earned are the main factors. Also important are the legal guidelines of the Social Security system itself at the time of one's retirement.

Can you collect disability after working eight years if you are 72 years old and collect Social Security from your deceased spouse?

You collect disability only if you show that you are unable to perform work, not that you worked as long as you have. If you worked eight years and there are justifiable reasons for quitting, as determined by your state's employment security office then you might be eligible for unemployment benefits. This has nothing to do with the Social Security you are presently receiving.

How much will you owe at the end of the year when on social security disability?

Don't quote me on this as I really don't know for sure, but I'm on SSDI, and if I were to get a job that pays well enough for Social Security to say that I don't need them to pay me anymore, I wouldn't expect them to say that all of the checks that Social Security gave me in the past seven years, I would have to pay back. which would be somewhere in the ballpark of $63,000. There would be no way I could ever pay that amount back. Now if Social Security was paying me my checks for all these years and then found out that I was working and getting paid enough where Social Security wouldn't need to pay me and I wasn't telling Social Security, then I believe that Social Security would have me pay the amount that Social Security gave me and if I didn't pay it back, Social Security would sue me.
