They exert a gravitational force on the earths water masses, during full moon high tides are higher than normal and low tides are lower than normal, this is known as 'spring tide'. These are natural conditions that bring with them stronger than normal currents and stronger than normal rip currents near the Coastlines. Large tides can reach their two high periods and can happen twice during a 24-hour period.

Hope it helped :D

Sorry for the other dude that wrote at the same time as I did. Don't pay attention to him as my information is precise and clear.

No. The rising and falling tides are caused by the gravitation pulls of the sun and the moon. Mars is too far away to have any noticeable effect on earth tides.

How the surface features of earth formed?

Earth was formed by a variety of different ways, the most common of which is the rising and falling of mountains due to plates shifting. Meteors and other falling space material often pit the earth, noteably Vredefort Crater in Africa which is 300km wide. The seas also change the earth. Their rising and falling changes the ice caps, submerges or reveals land and is in constant motion, eroding the edges of continents. Volcanic eruptions often add on to land forms, or in some cases create new islands from underwater. These are some basic ways the earth's landforms and features are formed.

What are ocean bulges called?

Bulges in the ocean are called tides. These are the rising and falling motions of the sea, caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun on the waters of the Earth.
