How does the movie metropolis play a role in understanding the horrors of world war 1 and 2?

Although the film is set in a futuristic world its concept of a wealthy society living in splendor and comfort above ground, whilst its poor and needy toil laboriously underground with middle class unsympathetic masters, can be seen in some ways to mirror the idealistic views of Hitler and the horrors that he and other Germans carried out during the war years.

Hitler saw himself and a superior Aryan race ruling the World. In the film it was Joh Fredersen and his wealthy industrialist. Hitler in an attempt to rid the world of Jews, people with Physical and Mental disabilities, Gypsies herded them up like cattle and placed them in labour camps where they were literally worked to death or exterminated. Once again this can be compared to the underground work force in the film.
