Ears have an important job. They can hear dogs barking, friends whispering, or teachers talking. They hear all kinds of things.
All sounds are made by vibration. The back and forth motion spreads out in waves. These waves travel trough the air or a piece of matter until it reaches the ear.
The outer part of the ear works as a funnel. It directs the sound into the ear.
