Please correct me if I am wrong:

What happens to food in your body?

Claim: The food in your body breaks down and moves into the cells for more energy to build up.

Evidence: (what I need help with) The digestive system breaks down foods into the components of amino acids, simple sugars, and fatty acids. This process also releases the micro-nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, which are then transported to where they are needed. The oxygen helps break down the food to enter through the digestive system which uses the respiratory system. The circulatory system carries the tiny pieces of food through the blood and veins with cells to create nutrients and energy for our body.

I need some scientific principles as well. 😊

The circulatory system brings nutrients and oxygen to the digestive system. Also the circulatory system takes wastes away from the digestive system.

The digestive system carrys the nutrients through the cells.

and that is what I think

step 1. The food is swallowed and digested in the stomach and small intestines into basic nutrients, e.g. glucose.

step 2. The glucose and other nutrients then diffuse across the wall of the small intestine into the blood. ( I think the blood plasma, which is a fluid in the blood, carries glucose )

step 3. The blood then is pumped around the body by the heart, to supply cells in the muscles with oxygen and glucose from the blood plasma.

step 4. The concentration of the nutrient in the body cells needing it is lower than the concentration of the nutrient in the blood, so the blood follows a concentration gradient, and naturally diffuses out of the blood and into the cell

The digestive system breaks down food into nutrients, and allows them to be absorbed into the circulatory system. The circulatory system then carries these nutrients to all body cells.

What have most chemical digestion and absorption?

The small intestine is the site of most chemical digestion and absorption in the digestive tract. During absorption, nutrients enter the bloodstream, and the circulatory system can then transport these nutrients to all body cells.

What are the hormones secreted from small intestine during digestion process?

The secrete gastric juice and the digestive hormones are secreted from the small intestines during the digestion process.

After digestion how do animals get nutrients?

animals get nutrients during digestion. the good stuff is absorbed through the digestive tract while the waste comes out of the anus.

Digestive juices in the digestive tract include?

Mechanical digestion is the same thing as chewing, or mastication. It does not need any digestive juices, because that is considered chemical digestion. Chemical digestion in the mouth during chewing is mainly by the aid of saliva which has, among other enzymes, salivary amylase which initiates carbohydrate digestion.

What do enzymes have to do with the digestive system?

Enzymes such as salivary amylase help break down starches and carbohydrates during digestion.

What absorbtion is used for in digestive system?

Absorption allows the nutrients that were produced during digestion to get "sucked up" and passed to the cells. Remember, we are just a bunch of cells and we must keep them alive. So, the nutrients are absorbed, given to the cells (via the circulatory system), and then they can use the nutrients to survive.

What happens in the anus during digestion?

The anus is the exit hole from the rectum and through which undigested food in the form of feces exits the digestive tract.

Is during a subordinate conjunction?

It is no kind of conjunction. The word during is a preposition.

What do digestive enzymes do during digestion?

Basically, the process of digestion causes large, complicated molecules to become smaller, simpler molecules. Proteins become amino acids. Starches become sugars. And so forth. Some chemicals remain unchanged; not everything needs to be altered to be digestible.

Is during a conjunction?

No, during is a preposition. It has a similar meaning to the conjunction while. We saw him during his trip.We saw him while he was travelling. No, during is a preposition.

Water is absorbed from what during digestion?

Water is absorbed from the large intestine into the bloodstream during digestion.

Which enzymes are at work during digestion?

During digestion the enzyme in saliva works on cooked food
