Sight doesn't affect how your taste buds work, but it DOES change how the brain perceives flavor. The brain registers whatever food you see (for example a cake) and your taste buds are instantly caused to taste "sweet" flavors. If you stared at a cake for a while, then suddenly ate celery, your taste buds would be expecting "sweet", but not get any. This is why someone may drink something and be repulsed, because they expected another flavor.

Yes, sight and taste are related. In certain ways that is. In the fact that if you see a certain food that you may like, you may taste it and say, "Wow, that was really good." However, if you can't see the food, you may be like, "That's nasty, what was that?" or vise versa

i don't think sight affects taste. taste has to do with your nose, tongue, and taste buds. if something is purple it is not going to look appetizing unless it is supposed to be purple, but it will still taste the same, no matter what color.

Sight is related to taste only in the way that they are both one of the five senses (some believe there are six). However, seeing something edible can make you feel as if you are tasting it. People can remember tastes and smells and remember what they belong to.

Sight can trick your mind into thinking it smells bad, and tastes bad; or smells wonderful, and tastes wonderful.

The difference is when you taste something you get reactions to the taste and when you smell something it goes through your nose.
