Talking about oral communication,we mean 'word of mouth' Talking about written communication,we mean 'written with the hand' Hence,we can say while oral communication appeals to the olfactory sense, written communication appeals to the visual sense basically.'Basically' because we can have an instance where a blind person reads with the sense of 'feeling'.In this case,it appeals to the hand(tactile).

Both oral tradition and written literature can be used to convey or tell a story. Both are a form of communication in which the author or storyteller is trying to convey a message to the listerner or reader. Written literature is sent down through the ages through written media like books. Oral tradition is passed on throught orators or storytellers and aren't usually recorded. Both oral stories and written literature can also be manipulated from the people that receive the information.
