Does caffeine have an effect on life expectancy?

There is some argument to the effect that high caffeine intake may affect health and life expectancy in general by interrupting the natural sleep cycle and the quality of sleep. The maximum recommended daily intake of caffeine is around 400 mg/day, or about 4 strong cups of coffee.
