A heat pump works by means of a reversing valve. When you want air conditioning, the valve reverses and pulls the hot air from the home, through the compressor and coils and deposits the hot air outside of the home. When you want heat (provided the outside temp. is high enough to contain heat,) the valve reverses and pull the outside air through the compressor and coil into the house. This is all possible because of a very low boiling point liquid in the lines.

A heat engine uses energy to work and exhaust heat that can't be used. Thermodynamics constrain the operation of a heat law and apply the conservation of energy to the system while limiting the possible efficiency of the machine to determine the direction of flow.

= Internal Combustion Engines =

'''Four Stroke Engine:''' When you start the engine the flywheel turns the crankshaft and it sends the pistons up and down at the same time the intake and exhaust valves are opening and closing because of the timing when the intake valve opens and takes the fuel in after that the spark comes from the spark plug that sends your piston down ( Because it ignites the fuel) at the same time the exhaust valve opens and sends the exhaust out , that's how the engine runs . Intake valve opens - the piston pulls the intake charge into the cylinder as piston moves downward. near the bottom of it travel the intake valve closesand the piston rises and compresses this charge and is ignited by a spark plug - exploding gas expands pushing piston downward. Near the bottom of it's travel the exhaust valve opens and the piston pushes exhaust out. This process continues causing piston to rotate crank shaft. (4 stroke; 1-intake, 2-compression, 3-power or fire, 4- exhaust) 2 complete revolutions of the crank is required for this to happen.

the fuel is put into the sparker which lights and causes pressure to move up the piston which then turns drive shaft to turn wheels.

answ2. An engine is a machine for doing a particular task.

A steam engine, a search engine, a calculating engine, a jet engine.

Even such things as guns and ballista are considered 'Engines of war'.

The above description does not cover diesel engines.

Perhaps you could limit your inquiry to one particular type.

Ans : an engine is a Mechanical device in which the process takes place .when we press self starter button then stater motors goes rotating at the rpm of350 rpm.the starter motors wheels are connected to crankshaft .when starter motors rotates crankshaft rotates piston also rotates due to timing of magneto both inlet and exhaust valves operates then engine get starts.
FOUR STROKE COMPRESSION ENGINE

As their name implies, operation of four stroke internal combustion engines have four basic steps that repeat with every two revolutions of the engine:

  1. Intake
    • Combustible mixtures are emplaced in the combustion chamber
  2. Compression
    • The mixtures are placed under pressure
  3. Combustion (Power)
    • The mixture is burnt, almost invariably a deflagration, although a few systems involve detonation. The hot mixture is expanded, pressing on and moving parts of the engine and performing useful work.
  4. Exhaust
    • The cooled combustion products are exhausted into the atmosphere
    2 STROKE ENGINE WORKING

This system manages to pack one power stroke into every two strokes of the piston (up-down). This is achieved by exhausting and re-charging the cylinder simultaneously.

    1. The steps involved here are:
Intake and exhaust occur at bottom dead center. Some form of pressure is needed, either crankcase compression or super-charging.

Compression stroke: Fuel-air mix compressed and ignited. In case of Diesel: Air compressed, fuel injected and self ignited

Power stroke: piston is pushed downwards by the hot exhaust gases.

The piston goes up and down which makes the fuel explode and gives spark to the spark plug.

The way a heat exchanger work is that you can exchange for a another heater for a leased value. You may have to pay a little bit more which in some places it is better to purchase then to lease.

A heat exchanger works by transferring energy from one place to another. The basic idea is that heat energy wants to transfer itself to less hot materials.

A heat engine converts heat into work. There must be a heat difference for this to work, and only part of the heat energy can be converted into useful work.
