just synopsis to explain
either its AC or DC motor
there exsist a battery for power supply, ac can be generated using a inverter circuit
and iginition is at key
accelerator is a potentio-meter by which you can contorl the supply to the motor
better Google it for more precise explanation
It depends on the type of electric motor. The most common is a DC motor with brushes. In this type of motor, a battery supplies an electric current through a coil of wire inside the motor housing. This coil of wire is called the rotor. When you run a current through a wire, it induces a magnetic field. Surrounding the rotor, are permanent magnets and these make up the stator. So when your electric current creates a magnetic field, the rotor wants to spin to align itself with the magnetic field created by the permanent magnets. As the rotor spins, a device called a commutator reverses the direction of the electric current. When this happens, the magnetic field that the coil of wire produces reverses polarity ( North becomes South and South becomes North). So now the rotor spins again to realign with the magnetic field. This is repeated over and over to keep the rotor spinning.

The laws regulating motor scooters vary by state. Some treat them as if they are motorcycles, others have age requirements, etc. This link has a list of motor scooter laws by state: http://www.motorscooters.com/scooter_laws.html
It grounds the body and motor of the car so that everything electrical will work. Anything electrical has to have positive and negative to work. At least in a car.
