Surname, Given name or initials, etc. Title (underlined or italicized), edition, publisher, year of publication, ISBN number. Example: Doe, J. L., A Brief History of Question and Answer in Teaching, 2nd ed., Smart and Co., 1990 ISBN ... If using the Harvard system the year of publication should be placed in brackets immediately after the author's initials: Doe, J. L. (1990) A Brief ... With either system, it is useful to add the date of the 1st ed. if you have used another, so: (First published in 1988). This should come right at the end after the ISBN.

If it was your essay title, it would be "Little House on the Prairie", or whatever the book title is. If it was your essay title, underline it. If it is just in your essay, leave out underlining. Remember to capitilize and use quotes.

Is 'The title is called what' correct?

If you're asking someone about the title of a book, movie, and so on, you might say:'What is the title?''Is the title "..."?''Is the book called "..."?''What is the book called?''What is the title of the book?'You wouldn't correctly say, 'The title is what?' unless you were using the phrase in an informal, humorous way.For example, someone says they've just bought a new book and tells you the title, which seems to you a really weird title. You might say, 'The title is what?' as an exclamation.Even in that situation, you still wouldn't say, 'The title is called what?', instead you might say, 'The book is called what?'.
