If the laptop has a CD writer, you can write the picture files to a CD and then load the CD into the desktop PC and transfer the files to the hard drive.
If you can't write a CD with the laptop, you might email (send) the files to yourself and then read the email and download the files with the desktop.
Also, Yahoo (and other sites) offer some free storage so that you could upload files from the laptop and download them to the desktop using your web browser.

∙ 13y agoThere are multiple ways to do this. First you can burn the images to a CD then add them to your laptop. Second you can use a Flash drive to transfer the files. Third, you can access your laptop through your network and transfer the files via Ethernet cable or through wireless.

1. transfer your files to a usb hard drive or usb flash drive (also known as a thumb drive or memory stick)
2. directly connect the 2 computers with a ethernet cross-over cable
3. if you've only got a couple to transfer you could e-mail it over the internet
4. burn them to a CD/DVD
5. if you have a media/memory card (the card that goes in your digital camera) reader you can put the pictures on the card and then copy them from the card on the other machine.
there's probably quite a few more ways but the flash drive is probably the easiest

∙ 7y agoThe easiest way to transfer pictures from your desktop computer to a laptop is to buy a USB "Thumb Drive". A large size costs between $10 to $20 USD. Or for about $120 USD, you can buy an External Desktop Drive. Copy or Move the pictures to the Thumb Drive or External Drive. Close the drive properly (click on the drive icon in the tool tray).
Next, insert the USB connection into the laptop. Copy or Move the images over to the laptop drive, usually under My Documents.
