Yes, if you already have a payment arrangement with the IRS but have a refund due, they will take the refund. If you have a balance due, they will apply your tax refund to this balance.

I am going through this same problem right now. Today I called Lufthansa to cancel my refundable ticket and they informed me that a refund to my credit card would take SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS, which is absolutely ridiculous. I then asked for some sort of proof or confirmation that I had cancelled my itinerary (so that if need be, I can chase down my refund two months from now) and they informed me that it is against their policy to do so. What?! I then asked if there was any way to log in and check the status of my refund. No. How can I prove to another Lufthansa agent that I did cancel my itinerary and am entitled to a refund? "You have to take my word for it". Even if they do send me a refund eventually, this is a totally unacceptable business practice.
Ticket to what?
Ahhhhh . . . you do not get a tax refund if you owe. You pay them.
The length it takes to get your tax refund is dependent on how you filed your taxes and the complexity. Time to receiving a refund can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 8 weeks.

No they do not take your refund from my experience, but they do take the state refund. If they do take it, you can contact the trustee and ask for it back. I was told as long as the payments were being made every pay period we were okay. Hope this helps
If a shop, take the recipt back and ask for a refund, if online, ring up for a refund.
It has been 11 weeks and no refund yet!
If it is in deferred status, they will probably not take your tax refund. If your student loan is delinquent, then they will be seize your refund and put it toward your debt.
The State can and will take your refund as long as there is a balance owed.
