First of all, I'm sorry the previous person had the nerve to call you a "moron" and not even spell the insult correctly, how ironic. Obviously this person is not the owner of a 2004 grand prix or does not even know how to operate their own.
Before re-setting the tire pressure, make sure you have corrected the problem causing the warning. The warning message appears if the pressure in one tire becomes 12 psi lower than the other three tires. Your car will "learn" the pressure at each tire every time you reset the system. This takes 45-90 minutes of driving per the operating manual. This does not have to be accumulated in one single trip either.
To reset the tire pressure monitor system, after correcting the problem, you have to use the options under the Driver Information Center (DIC) on your dash. The button you want to utilize is called the "set/reset" button, it is the third button from the left, directly in the middle of all the buttons. It has an arrow that points to the left. Press and hold the button until the DIC displays "Tire Inflation Has Been Set", this message confirms the tire pressure system has been reset. If, by chance, the DIC does not return to the standard display with the date, ect., you can press the "options" button to get back to the standard display. The "options" button is directly to the right of the "set/reset" button you just got done using. It has a lower case "i" on it.
I hope this answer helps you, and good luck!!!
The light will remain on if one of the tires has low air or if one of the tire sensors is bad. Make sure all of the tires have the proper amount of air, if they do then take it to a tire shop and to replace the bad sensor.
Im having the same problem, on a 2001 Alero, tire did in fact lose air, so the signal is correct. The manual says to open the fuse box while car is on, press the reset button, next to the driver side, not running and should blink first the oil change light, then the the low tire pressure, but I'm having no luck! Any advice is appreciated, its annoying but would like it to work. Good luck with yours, let me know please if you find a way other than that, one comment was to remove the negative battery side for a few seconds, not sure I want to mess with that, not that car savvy! www.brbartle3@aol.com thanks and love a response!
It is unlikely that you can fix this yourself. The most common causes for problems with the "low tire pressure" warning light are:
There is almost never anything wrong with the light or wiring.
Remember even if a problem has been found and fixed, the light may still remain on for at least a half mile of driving before turning off.
Scroll through your menu to the "Tire Pressure" screen, then press and hold the Reset Arrow. That should fix your problem. Good Luck

how do you reset the tire pressure warning light on a 2004 pontiac grand prix
You do not reset it, it is a fault code. It is not a routine maintenance indicator. Fix the problem and the light will go out.
Check engine light is reset with a scan tool.Oil change due is reset by pressing "step" until "0 miles to service" is displayed. Then press and hold "reset" until it resets.
Have the engine controller checked for faults then serviced and the light turned off. Take it to the dealer.
After the tires have been properly inflated to the pressure indicated on the label on the driver side door jamb, the light should go out. If it doesn't immediately go out, driving for about a mile should cause the light to go out. If not there is a sensor failure and you will need to take it in for service.
The tire pressure monitoring system varies on Pontiac Grand Prix depending on the year of the car as some years do not have the TPMS. To reset the TPMS light, refer to the manual for your car.
Indicator lights on an Audi can be reset by a mechanic. The cars manual will also give instructions on how to reset this light as well.
