AnswerIt just might reset and clear the codes if you take the battery cables off the battery and leave it that way for a while. Depends upon the car.
Aug., 13, 2013- Double checked. Dealer, Ford Service Writers, suggest disconnect Pos. & Neg. cables for 10 to 15 minutes. If it wasn't a false code it will return after approx. 30 minutes of driving. If idiot light comes on again retail auto stores (Auto Zone, Advaned Auto, etc) will usually read & clear codes free in order to acquire your prationage for the repair parts.
