remove the a piller trim, they just pull off remove the black trim which goes across below the windshild with a short screw driver remove the screws from the speaker unplug the wire connector put in the new speaker
Using a flat blade screwdriver, gently pry up bottom of speaker grill.

Remove the right pillar cover. Once removed slide a flat head screw driver carefully between the cover that holds the speaker and the dash cover. You will see 2 separate covers. Pry open slowly from the right side up. You will be able to use your hands. The speaker is held in with screws. I never took my out just unplugged it. if a t/a came with front speaker it was mounted in the dash facing the windshield
The front and back speakers are 6x9, there are also speaker holes in the front dash on the left and right. The dash speaker holes are small, like 3 1/2 or 4 inch.

The largest speaker that will fit in the dash is a 4"x6". Not sure what the exact dimensions are on the OEM speaker. front speakers are 4x6 and the rear or 6x9
Open front passenger door and you will see fuse box labeled on dash board. Between door and dash board.
You have to remove the whole dashboard and then the speaker should be exposed, then just remove it.
The front dash holder in the 1999 Lumina is screwed into the backside of the dash. Go through the glovebox to loosen the screws to replace.
