How do you remove a spell off of someone else?

You can either;

Cast a protection spell on the person who the spell has been cast on--including yourself. Be careful with these, though, and try to use strictly Wiccan ones of minimal malevolent intent

Cast a binding spell on the original caster to prevent them from casting more black magic spells that could hurt other people.

A Witch's Answer

I do not recommend the uninitiated undertake either suggestions in the answer above. Much as both suggestions are what the "outside world" expect as answers, Witchcraft is not a game, nor is it something you can take on without years of study and practice. Witchcraft is an ancient spiritual path (religion) and it makes no more sense for someone who is not a practitioner to attempt this than it is for them you undertake an exorcism.

If you are already a practitioner, then you do not need to be told how to do things, your mentor, High Priestess/High Priest, or Teacher can walk you through it.

Trying to cast a protection spell without training and the knowledge and permission of the subject will only put you in the way of the Rule of Three, no matter your intent, it is still manipulation. As for binding spells, these are the very worst kind of manipulative spells. Making someone do your will is NEVER good.

If you are the one who cast the spell - refer to your Book of Shadows, and do a reversal.

If you are the one who has had the spell cast upon you.

First be sure you actually have been spelled. A run of bad luck, or someone telling you they have cast a spell on you does not mean it has in fact happened.

In witchcraft it is not just advisable, but essential to have the complete knowledge and express permission of the one you are casting on/for. Anything else smacks of manipulation, is basically unethical and puts the caster in the way of the Rule of Three. (That which you send out will return to you three-fold).

- Your personal belief system (or will) is your best protection from a spell. If you do not believe in it, or if you believe your chosen deity will protect you, you are in no danger.

Contact a shaman/medicine man/witch/warlock/voodoo priest or other adherent of the particular belief system under which the curse was placed and pay that person to remove it.

Or, you could simply recognize the hokum of such, save your money, and live your life.

First of all, you will do much better at this if you are comfortable with the use of magic.

Second if you are new to magic, you may want to seek out a teacher who can help you. If you have been doing this for a while, check your Book of Shadows, there may be something there you have already done that can be adapted.

Third if all of the above are inapplicable...

If you are removing the energies from a place. Use white sage or frankincense and smudge the area, counterclockwise to remove. Follow by asperging (sprinkling) with rainwater & sea salt - again work counterclockwise. A blessing afterward wouldn't hurt.

If you are removing negative energies from an object. If it can be submerged in rainwater and sea salt do that. If not smudge the object as above with white sage or frankincense.

If you are removing the negative energies from yourself. Take a shower, use sea salt to (lightly) scrub your body down, or stand in the smoke of a smudge of. white sage or frankincense

It all depends on the kind of spell which has been cast upon and which magic system it prescribes to. I am not versed in the practice or theory of counter spells or magic at all as I am not a believer but I am quite learned in the historical beliefs of magic. A lot of the way you supposedly remove spells are the symptoms of the spell which has been cast and who cast it. To identify a witch you could supposedly take feathers that had been dipped into an accelerant then say the suspected person's name over the feather. If it burns than the person is innocent if not they are a witch. Counter magic and apotropaism is a subject which is widely varied depending upon region and culture. Prayers to certain deities was a common practice for protection against witchcraft. Amulets and talismans are also a widely practiced belief. One maybe able to rid oneself of a spell by learning more of the spell itself and then enacting a counter.

A spell reversal or cleansing can help remove a spell that has been put on someone. Try doing it yourself first and then if it hasn't been lifted then seek out a professional to have it removed. Depending on how strong the original spell was will depend on how much you have to go through to remove it.
