How do you recover from narcissist?

I'm still getting there so I don't have the definitive answer. But I have found what helps is to educate yourself and read everything you can about them so you can understand as much as possible about their reactions and why x y and z happened so you can understand. When they criticised or insulted you or acted in a way that you couldn't fathom and then told you it was all your fault, you are aware that it probably wasn't - it is the Narcissism and them reflecting everything back at you.

After you've understood then you need time and space and strength and lots of things that interest you to throw yourself into. If the narcissist is someone you find particularly physically attractive try to imagine what they actually look like inside, which is not at all pleasant and remember the worse things they ever told you. If they made you feel high as well as incredibly low, which is often the case, then try to get your highs elsewhere from healthier sources - whatever does it for you - be it taking up running marathons, helping out at a charity, doing a skydive, whatever.

And rejoice in the fact you won't have the lows. And you are free to be you, without someone else telling you that you are unacceptable.
