I was a horrible teen so I can see why its a problem. The only thing that worked for me was boot camp and therapy. Sometimes its just hormones. Sometimes they are testing there limits and want to see how far they can push you. One thing my dad did was he actually asked me why I did the things I did. I didn't have a good answer other than to drive my parents nuts and to have as much fun as I could before I grew up. Teens do this stuff all the time. Just make adjustments to the punishments and make them as long as you need to. Unless they are doing something illegal it shouldn't be a huge concern. Just set a curfew and when you punish then stick to your guns and don't budge on it.

Yes you can. Ground them, take the cell phone, remove the computer, but if you say you are going to do something do it.

They need punishments so that you can correct them and guide them along the right path. If a child lied to you, would you just forget about it and let them think that lying is right or would you correct them? If we didn't love our kids, we wouldn't punish them!
