Based on my experience as a bookkeeping teacher in my T.L.E. classes in high school, I use two digit numbers. i.e., assets starts from no.1, ex. cash - 11, liabilities, no.2, ex. accounts payable-21, owner's equity #3 like capital,-31, revenues, starts with #4_ and expenses with #5_...hope this can help...
